The FPSC interview is the last stage of the selection process. You reach it after you pass the written test and your name appears on the shortlist. FPSC holds interviews case by case, so there is no single interview date for all candidates. Your own date comes from the interview programme for your case, the candidate list on fpsc.gov.pk, and an SMS to your registered mobile number.
One thing to know first: FPSC does not issue a downloadable call letter. There is no call letter to download and no search by CNIC or tracking ID. FPSC posts a public notice with your name and roll number, lists you on the candidate list page, and sends you an SMS. This guide explains exactly where to look.

What Is an FPSC Interview?#
The FPSC interview is the final stage of recruitment for most federal posts. It comes after the written test and the shortlist. A panel interviews each shortlisted candidate. The interview tests depth of knowledge in the subjects you studied, plus basic knowledge of Islam and Pakistan. Non-Muslim candidates are not asked about Islam.
The interview is not a formality. It carries 200 marks, and the final merit list combines your test marks and your interview marks. A weak interview can pull down a strong written score. Our FPSC results guide explains how the shortlist works.
FPSC usually shortlists five candidates per post for most scales. Only those five go to scrutiny and interview. If your name is not on the candidate list, you were not shortlisted for that post.
How the FPSC Interview Schedule Works#
FPSC publishes numbered Interview Programmes. Each programme lists the cases, the dates and the candidates called. The candidate notices for each case sit on the interview schedule candidate list page. Each notice gives the roll number, the scrutiny date and the interview date.
The most recent programme is Interview Programme 164/2026, dated 30 October 2026. The schedule page lists programmes 164 down to 151, all dated 30 October 2026, then programmes 146, 145 and 144, dated 15 October 2026. The candidate list page was last updated on 3 November 2026.
Check the schedule page on fpsc.gov.pk. Programmes are added as more cases reach the interview stage. Your case may not be there yet. That means your written result has not been announced or your interview has not been scheduled.

Recent Round: 20 to 23 October 2026#
The last completed round shows how an FPSC interview week works. FPSC interviewed 110 candidates for 10 federal posts at its Islamabad headquarters from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 October 2026, under Interview Programmes 145/2026 and 146/2026. Programme 145 covered 4 cases and 49 candidates. Programme 146 covered 6 cases and 61 candidates.

| Fri 23 Oct | F.4-80/2026-R Data Processing Assistant, BS-16, FPSC | 2 |
Most of these were teaching posts in Islamabad Model Colleges and Schools. Three posts were at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), plus a library director post and an FPSC data post. All interviews were at FPSC Headquarters, Aga Khan Road, Sector F-5/1, Islamabad. Candidates from Karachi and Quetta in Programme 145 were interviewed over Zoom from Islamabad. Candidates from Lahore and Peshawar had to come in person.
This round is over. If your name was on a list and you attended, the next step is the final recommendation, not another application. If you missed your document scrutiny or your interview, there is no second sitting for that programme. Watch the FPSC website for the next programme instead.
CSS 2026 Viva Voce Schedule#
CSS interviews run on a separate schedule. FPSC uploaded the tentative psychological assessment and viva voce schedule for CE-2026 on 29 October 2026. The interviews run from November 2026 to early April 2027 at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Multan.
Quetta candidates go first, from 10 to 16 November 2026. Lahore Phase V runs last, from 15 to 31 March 2027, with viva voce from 19 March to 5 April 2027. The firm schedule for Islamabad Phase II is already on the FPSC website. These dates are ranges and tentative. FPSC says they may change. Your exact date is in your individual schedule.
After the written exam, qualified candidates go through a medical examination, a psychological assessment and a viva voce. The final CSS result and allocation of groups are based on the combined written and viva marks. The interview is a decisive stage for the 476 candidates who passed the CE-2026 written exam. Our CSS result guide has the written result figures. Our CSS age limit guide explains who can apply.
How to Check Your FPSC Interview Date#
Your interview date depends on your case number. The case number is the “F.4-xx/2026-R” reference printed on your earlier test result and admission letter. Check it on the FPSC website, not on a Facebook page or WhatsApp group.
- Open fpsc.gov.pk.
- Go to Schedule, then Interviews, then GR, then GR Interview Programme. The page lists the interview programmes.
- Open the GR Interview Candidate List. It is on the same Schedule page. The list was last updated on 3 November 2026.
- Find your case number first, then your subject category, then your roll number.
- Open the newest notice for your case. It gives your roll number, your scrutiny date and your interview date.
- Note the scrutiny time of 9:00 am on the day before your interview.
The programme and your notice do not always match on timing. Where they differ, plan for the earlier time. The notice is the newer document. FPSC says change of centre and date is not allowed.
How FPSC Tells You About Your Interview#
FPSC informs candidates in three ways. First, it displays a public notice on its website with the candidates’ names and roll numbers. Second, it tells you the actual date of scrutiny and interview as per the programme of your case. Third, it sends an SMS to the mobile number in your online application.
There is no downloadable call letter and no search by CNIC, tracking ID, roll number or case number on the FPSC website. Do not pay anyone who offers to download a call letter for you. FPSC issues nothing of that kind. Our fake job ads guide explains how to spot these scams and where to report them.
Keep the mobile number in your application active. FPSC sends the alert by SMS. If you changed your number after applying, check the website yourself. FPSC’s own website warns that its site is the primary source of information, and no claim is accepted from a candidate who overlooked the information on it.
Document Scrutiny the Day Before Your Interview#
This is the step most candidates miss. FPSC calls you one day before your interview for scrutiny of documents, at 9:00 am at the same centre. Only candidates found eligible at scrutiny sit the interview the next day. Miss the scrutiny day and you risk losing the interview.
FPSC calls this the Fast Track System. It checks your documents a day early so the interview day runs without delays. Candidates found ineligible or rejected are informed through letters stating the reasons.
Example from the October round: a Senior Elementary Teacher candidate in biology, zoology or botany had scrutiny on 21 October and the interview on 22 October at 10:00 am. The education category of the same case had scrutiny on 22 October and the interview on 23 October. The PIMS medicine and surgery candidates had scrutiny on 20 October and interviews on 21 October.

Documents to Bring to the FPSC Interview#
Bring originals and two attested photocopy sets of everything. Photocopies alone are not enough. FPSC checks your original documents at scrutiny, the day before your interview. Bring the exact documents listed on your own case notice. The list can change by post.
| Document | Why FPSC asks for it |
|---|---|
| Original CNIC | Identity verification |
| Two photographs | For the record at scrutiny |
| Original self domicile certificate | Proof of domicile |
| Matric certificate | Proof of date of birth and age |
| Intermediate certificate | Academic verification |
| Degrees with transcripts | The degrees the post requires |
| Diplomas and experience certificates | Only for posts that demand them |
| Departmental permission certificate (DPC) | Original, if you are in government service |
| HEC equivalence certificate | Only if your degree needs it |
| Professional registration (PMDC, PEC, PNC) | Only for regulated professions |
| Two attested photocopy sets of everything | Submitted at scrutiny |
Keep everything in one folder: your CNIC, your degrees and transcripts, your experience letters and your domicile certificate. You do not need a hard copy of your online application. FPSC asks for documents only at the verification stage. Our documents checklist explains each document in detail. Our domicile guide explains how to get the certificate. Our medical fitness certificate guide explains the certificate some posts need. HEC attestation is explained in our HEC guide, and the experience certificate format in our experience certificate guide.
FPSC Interview Marks and Qualifying Scores#
The FPSC interview carries 200 marks. The qualifying score rises with the pay scale. You must reach the qualifying score for your grade to be recommended.
| Grade | Qualifying marks (out of 200) |
|---|---|
| BS-16 and BS-17 | 101 |
| BS-18 | 111 |
| BS-19 | 121 |
| BS-20 | 131 |
| BS-21 and BS-22 | 141 |
Final merit combines your test marks and your interview marks. A strong written score can be pulled down by a weak interview, and a strong interview can lift a borderline written score. Prepare the exact documents listed on your notice, and arrive well before the reporting time.
What Happens After the Interview?#
FPSC publishes the final result and recommendation list case by case on fpsc.gov.pk. Your case’s timeline cannot be judged from another post’s result. Keep checking the website for your case number.
The final list names the recommended candidates. FPSC then forwards the recommendation to the department. The department issues the appointment letter. You then submit a joining report. Our joining letter guide explains the format. Our FPSC results guide explains how to check your result after the interview.
What to Do If Your Notice Has Not Arrived#
A missing notice usually means FPSC has not uploaded it for your case yet. Notices are uploaded case by case, not all at once. Do not panic, but do not ignore it either.
- Recheck the candidate list page on fpsc.gov.pk. The list was last updated on 3 November 2026, and new notices are added as cases reach the interview stage.
- Confirm your registered mobile number is active. FPSC sends the alert by SMS to the number in your online application.
- Keep your case number and roll number ready. You will need them to find your notice.
- Contact FPSC directly. Call +92-51-111000248 or email fpsc@fpsc.gov.pk.
- Do not rely on social media groups or agents. Only fpsc.gov.pk is the official source.
Anyone who asks you for money for a call letter, an interview date or a guaranteed selection is a fraud. FPSC does not issue a downloadable call letter at all. Our fake job ads guide explains how to spot these scams and where to report them.
If you lost your tracking ID, our FPSC apply guide explains the two-step form and how your application was submitted. Our roll number slip guide explains how to download your admission certificate for the written test.
Mistakes to Avoid#
- Missing the scrutiny day. Scrutiny is at 9:00 am the day before your interview. Only candidates who pass scrutiny sit the interview.
- Bringing photocopies instead of originals. FPSC checks original documents at scrutiny.
- Bringing only one photocopy set. FPSC asks for two attested sets of everything.
- Trusting a date from a Facebook page or WhatsApp group. Check fpsc.gov.pk.
- Paying anyone for a call letter or a date. FPSC issues no downloadable call letter. Its notices are free on its own website.
