What Is ETEA?#

ETEA is the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency. It is the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s own testing body, set up under a provincial law in 1998. A Board of Governors headed by the Chief Minister runs it. The KP government declared ETEA the exclusive testing service for public-sector recruitment in the province.

ETEA also runs entrance tests for professional colleges. That is a separate route with its own link on the ETEA homepage. This guide is about ETEA jobs only.

ETEA jobs are KP posts. A KP domicile is usually required. Federal jobs go through FPSC and Punjab jobs through PPSC. Our how-to-apply guide explains which body covers which jobs.

The Official ETEA Websites (and the Look-Alike)#

ETEA has two official sites. etea.edu.pk is the information site: announcements, results and the FAQ. etea.online is the jobs portal: the Latest Advertisements list, the project codes and the Apply Now forms. etea.online is linked from etea.edu.pk. It is the official portal.

etea.one is not ETEA. It is a look-alike site. Do not register or pay there. Type etea.online yourself, or reach it from the link on etea.edu.pk. Our fake job ad check guide explains how to spot look-alike sites.

How to Register on ETEA#

You register once on the ETEA portal with your CNIC and a password. Then you apply for each project from your account. Your CNIC is your identifier across all ETEA applications.

Registration alone does not let you apply. You must first verify your CNIC at a NADRA e-Sahulat franchise (see the next section). Without that verification, you cannot apply for any project.

What You Need Before You Start#

Keep these ready before you open the portal. The e-Sahulat step needs a trip to a franchise, so do it first.

  • Your CNIC. It must be valid. Your CNIC is your identifier for every ETEA application.
  • Your own mobile number. Use a number that has not been ported. ETEA sends your roll number slip alert by SMS.
  • An email address. For your account and for updates.
  • A password you will remember. You sign in with your CNIC and this password for every project.
  • Your domicile. A KP domicile is usually required for provincial posts.
  • Your project code. Each project has a code, for example 883 for Khyber Teaching Hospital and 874 for PESCO. Find your project in the Latest Advertisements list on etea.online.

You do not send documents to ETEA at this stage. Copies are only requested from candidates who pass the screening test.

How to Apply for ETEA Jobs Online: The 6 Steps#

Every project uses the same process. Apply separately, with a separate fee, for each post. Our ETEA jobs page lists the current ETEA projects and their last dates.

  1. Create your ETEA profile. Open etea.online and sign up with your CNIC, your own mobile number and a password. If you already have an account, sign in.
  2. Verify your CNIC at NADRA e-Sahulat. Print the e-Sahulat token from your profile and get your CNIC verified at a NADRA e-Sahulat franchise. This step is mandatory. Without it, you cannot apply.
  3. Pick your project code. Find your project in the Latest Advertisements list. Open the advertisement and the syllabus or paper composition, where one is posted. Note the project code down. ETEA uses the code on slips, results and merit lists.
  4. Fill the form for one post. Click Apply Now, choose your post and fill the form. Upload what it asks for, then submit.
  5. Print the deposit slip and pay the fee. The slip shows your token number, the project code and the fee. Pay the non-refundable fee by the method it shows: 1Link, Easypaisa or UBL (branch or Omni agent).
  6. Keep the stamped slip. Keep the bank-stamped candidate copy. Share it with nobody. Print a copy of your submitted form as well.

ETEA Fee: How Much and How to Pay#

Post grade Fee
BS-16 and below Rs 700
BPS-17 or equivalent Rs 900
BS-18 and above Rs 1,000
Posts with a physical test first Rs 900

These are the fee bands ETEA’s FAQ lists for online applications. Your deposit slip shows the exact fee for your project. Pay the amount on your slip.

ETEA’s FAQ page still shows an older fee table from the paper-form days (Rs 500 for BS-16/17, Rs 700 for BS-18, Rs 1,200 for BS-19, Rs 1,500 for BS-20 and above). That text belongs to the old process of downloading a form and posting it. Follow the fee on your deposit slip, not the old table.

The fee is non-refundable. Read the advertisement’s terms before you pay. Some advertisements need a separate application and a separate fee for every post.

How to Download the ETEA Roll Number Slip#

ETEA posts roll number slips online 1-2 weeks before the test, under Roll Numbers on etea.edu.pk and in your portal account. ETEA sends an SMS when your slip is ready. Keep your project code and CNIC ready.

If the slip does not appear a few days before the test, call ETEA on 091-9219131 or 091-9219049. Do not wait until the morning of the test.

On test day, bring the original slip and your original CNIC or passport. Under 18, bring your original B-Form and your SSC certificate with a photo. Bring a marker, a pen and a clip-board. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices and smart watches are banned. Anyone found with one is disqualified.

After the Test#

Check your result on etea.edu.pk/result. Filter by test type (CBT, typing, shorthand, skill, driving, physical or written) and search by your post or department name. Merit lists are posted separately under Merit List.

The pass mark is 40% in the screening or written test for BPS-1 to BPS-16 posts. Each advertisement states its own rules, and the weightage varies by project. In one Rescue 1122 advertisement, education carried 70 marks, the test 20 and the interview 10.

Qualified candidates are checked against their original documents. Anyone who misses that quality check drops out. If you think your paper was marked wrongly, look at the Retotaling section. ETEA posts retotaling windows project by project, so apply inside the dates shown.

You can edit once. ETEA allows one round of changes to a submitted form, and only until the closing date. After the last date, no changes are allowed.

Mistakes That Get ETEA Applications Rejected#

  • Skipping the e-Sahulat verification. Without CNIC verification at a NADRA e-Sahulat franchise, you cannot apply at all.
  • Applying on a look-alike site. etea.one is not ETEA. Use etea.online, reached from etea.edu.pk.
  • Wrong project code. Each project has its own code. Applying under the wrong code puts you in the wrong test.
  • Paying the wrong fee. The deposit slip shows the exact fee for your project. Pay that amount, not a figure from an old guide.
  • One form for two posts. Each post needs its own application and its own fee.
  • Sending documents to ETEA. Do not post documents at the application stage. They are only asked for after you pass the screening test.
  • Taking a phone to the test centre. Phones, Bluetooth devices and smart watches are banned. Anyone found with one is disqualified, and ETEA keeps a public list of blacklisted candidates.
