What Jobs Does FPSC Advertise?#
FPSC recruits for federal government posts. It also recruits for the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan. Most posts are BS-16 to BS-21. FPSC advertises them in consolidated advertisements on fpsc.gov.pk.
Not every federal post goes through FPSC. Many federal departments advertise directly. Those posts are listed on the National Job Portal at njp.gov.pk. Check the advertisement first. It tells you which route to use.
FPSC is the federal commission. PPSC is Punjab, SPSC is Sindh, KPPSC is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and BPSC is Balochistan. Each commission has its own website and its own application system. Our how-to-apply guide explains the full picture across all commissions.
Do You Need to Create an FPSC Account?#
No. FPSC does not ask you to create a permanent account. You apply for each post with your CNIC on the portal. After you submit, the system gives you a tracking ID. Keep that tracking ID safe. You use it to check your application status and to download your admission certificate later.
Several guides tell you to register an account first. That is not how the FPSC portal works. The official guidelines describe a CNIC-based application for each post. There is no username and password to create.
What You Need Before You Start#
Keep these ready before you open the form. A missing detail in the middle of Step 1 costs time, and the portal does not save a half-filled form.
- Your CNIC. It must be valid. The form asks for your CNIC issue date, so keep the card with you.
- A passport-size photo. JPG or JPEG, under 30 KB. Resize it before you start.
- Your degree result date. The form asks for the result date of your qualifying degree.
- Your domicile. The form only lists the domiciles the post allows. If your domicile is not listed, you cannot apply for that post.
- A mobile number and email address. FPSC sends updates to both.
- Your experience dates. Exact dates for each job you claim.
- DPC or NOC number, if you are a government employee. Get departmental permission before you apply. Without it, FPSC cancels the application and no admission certificate is issued.
You do not upload your degrees or domicile with the form. Only the photo is uploaded at the application stage. FPSC asks shortlisted candidates for documents after the written result. Our documents checklist tells you what to keep ready for that stage.
How to Apply for FPSC Jobs Online: The 9 Steps#
The process has two steps with the payment between them. Paying the fee does not submit your application. You must finish Step 2 and see the message “Your Application has been submitted successfully”.
- Open fpsc.gov.pk. Choose Apply Online, then General Recruitment. Pick your post from the list.
- Read the requirements. Check the qualification, age, gender, domicile and experience rules for the post. Only apply if you meet them.
- Enter your CNIC. The system checks your CNIC and tells you that you can apply.
- Fill Step 1. Enter your name, domicile, gender, religion, test centre, interview centre and the result date of your qualifying degree. Government employees also enter their DPC or NOC number.
- Press Generate PSID and Challan. The system gives you a 16-digit PSID for the fee.
- Pay the PSID. Pay through an ATM, a mobile banking app, internet banking or any 1Link member bank branch. Use the “1Link 1Bill Invoice/Voucher” option.
- Go back to Apply Online. Select the same post and enter your CNIC again. The system shows your payment. Press Proceed to Step 2.
- Complete Step 2. Upload your passport-size photo (jpg or jpeg, under 30 KB). Then add your personal details, education and experience.
- Submit. Tick the undertaking and press Submit Your Application. Save your tracking ID and print the application.

FPSC Fee: How Much and How to Pay#
| Grade | Fee |
|---|---|
| BS-16 and BS-17 | Rs 600 |
| BS-18 | Rs 1,500 |
| BS-19 | Rs 2,500 |
| BS-20 and above | Rs 3,000 |
Older guides quote Rs 300 for BS-16 and BS-17 posts. That figure is out of date. The current fee is Rs 600 under FPSC’s fee notice of 5 September 2025.
Each post needs its own PSID. Your CNIC stays the same for every post. A PSID is valid until the closing date of the advertisement. The fee is not refundable.
The old TR-6 challan is not accepted. Cheques, bank drafts and pay orders are not accepted either. Pay the PSID through 1Link only.
Our PSID guide explains the PSID system in full, including how to pay through Easypaisa and JazzCash.

How to Pay the FPSC Fee Through PSID#
Pay your 16-digit PSID through any 1Link channel. Use the “1Link 1Bill Invoice/Voucher” option. These channels work:
- ATM. Any ATM of a 1Link member bank.
- Mobile banking app. Your bank’s app, or Easypaisa and JazzCash through the 1Link option.
- Internet banking. Your bank’s online banking portal.
- Bank branch. Any branch of a 1Link member bank, over the counter.
Pay before the closing date. A PSID stops working after the closing date. If you paid but the portal does not show your payment, contact the bank or app you paid through.
After You Submit#
Save your tracking ID. The system gives it to you right after submission. Print your application and keep the tracking ID with it.
You can edit once. After final submission, you can edit your FPSC application only once, and only before the closing date. Check every detail before you submit, because the information in the form is treated as final. False or wrong entries can lead to rejection.
Your admission certificate comes later. FPSC issues the admission certificate (roll number slip) before the test. You download it with your CNIC and tracking ID.
Documents come after the written result. FPSC asks only the shortlisted candidates for documents, within 15 days of the result list. Our FPSC results guide explains how to check your result and what happens next.
CSS is different. The CSS exam uses a separate FPSC form and a fee of Rs 250. Our CSS age limit guide covers the CSS rules. Do not mix the CSS form with the general recruitment form.
Mistakes That Get FPSC Applications Rejected#
- Paying the fee but never finishing Step 2. The fee payment is not the application. You must submit Step 2 and see the success message.
- Wrong details in the form. The form is treated as final. A wrong CNIC number, domicile or degree result date can get your application rejected.
- Paying with an old challan. The TR-6 challan, cheques, bank drafts and pay orders are not accepted. Use the PSID through 1Link.
- No DPC or NOC. Government employees who apply without departmental permission get their application cancelled.
- Applying after the closing date. The portal closes on the closing date. A PSID paid after that date does not work.
- Paying a fake site. FPSC never asks you to pay into a personal JazzCash or Easypaisa account. Fees go only through a PSID made on the FPSC portal. Our fake job ad check guide explains how to spot these scams.
