A PSID is a Payment Slip ID, a one-time number the commission’s website makes for your job application. You pay it like a utility bill through 1Link’s 1Bill service, using a bank app, Easypaisa, JazzCash, an ATM or a bank counter. This guide covers what a PSID is, how to generate one, how to pay it, the fee for every commission, and the mistakes that cost you the fee or the post.

Every commission and testing service now takes payment online. The old paper challan is gone at almost every body. A paid fee is not refunded. ETEA, KPPSC and PPSC say so in writing, and no refund route was found at the others.

What Is a PSID?#

A PSID is a Payment Slip ID, a one-time number the commission’s website makes for your application. You pay it through 1Link like a bill. The number tells the bank exactly which application and which fee you are paying, so the commission can match your payment to your form.

Each PSID belongs to one application. Make a new one for each post. A PSID paid after the closing date does not revive the application, and a fee paid for one post cannot be moved to another.

The same PSID system is used for other government payments in Pakistan: domicile fees, driving licence fees, passport fees and vehicle token tax all generate a PSID that you pay the same way, through a bank app, a wallet, an ATM or a bank counter. The number is different every time, and the length varies by service: FPSC job PSIDs are 16 digits, PPSC job PSIDs are 17 digits, and other services use 12 or 17 digits. Always copy the number exactly as the system shows it.

Why You Pay Through a PSID#

Government job fees are no longer paid by depositing a paper challan at a bank. The commission generates a PSID for your application, and you pay that number through the banking system. The app shows the name and amount before you pay, which is your check that the number is right.

FPSC’s General Instructions, updated 12 August 2026, say the fee must be paid against a PSID from fpsc.gov.pk. The old TR-6 challan, a bank draft, a pay order or a cheque is not accepted. BPSC moved from the green bank challan to online 1Link payment from 5 May 2026, so its older guidance about the green challan is out of date.

A PSID is valid only until the closing date of the advertisement. After that date, the number no longer works for that application. If you miss the window, you cannot pay late and revive the application.

How to Generate a PSID#

You generate a PSID on the commission’s own website, while you fill in your application for a government job. The steps differ slightly by body, but the pattern is the same: open the application, fill in your details, and press the button that makes the PSID.

FPSC. On fpsc.gov.pk, choose Apply Online, then General Recruitment, and pick the post. Fill Step 1 with your name, domicile, gender, religion, test and interview centres, and the result date of your qualifying degree. Press Generate PSID and Challan. You get a 16-digit PSID. Note the number and the amount before you close the page.

PPSC. Apply on ppsc.gop.pk. The system makes a 17-digit PSID under the GoPb biller. Note the number and the amount. PPSC says the fee for one post cannot be moved to another.

KPPSC. Apply on kppsc.gov.pk. The fee is Rs 500, excluding service charges, paid through the 1Bill option in any banking or microfinance app.

SPSC. Apply on spsc.gov.pk. The CCE-2026 fee is Rs 1,000, paid against a PSID with the 1Bill invoice option. Other posts charge the fee set in their advertisement.

BPSC. Apply on bpsc.gob.pk. The fee is set in each advertisement. Payment is online through 1Link banking channels.

NTS. Register for your project on the NTS website. The fee is set for each project. NTS takes only 1Bill invoice payments, or a counter deposit at ABL, MCB or Meezan Bank.

ETEA. Apply on etea.edu.pk. ETEA adds one step before payment: print an e-Sahulat token and get your CNIC verified at a NADRA e-Sahulat franchise. Then print the deposit slip with your token number and project code, and pay it through Easypaisa or 1Link.

Our how to apply guide covers the full application process for each commission, including where the PSID step sits in it.

How to Pay a PSID#

بینک ایپ، ایزی پیسہ یا جاز کیش سے ادا کریں

A PSID is paid the same way as an electricity bill. You generate the number on the commission’s site, then pay it in the bill payment section of your bank app or wallet. The app shows the name and amount before you pay, which is your check that the number is right.

  1. Fill your application on the official site and generate the PSID or deposit slip. Note the number and the amount.
  2. Open your bank app, Easypaisa or JazzCash and go to bill payment. Look for 1Bill, Invoice or Government payments. The name varies by app.
  3. Enter the PSID or 1Bill number exactly.
  4. Check that the name and amount match your application, then pay.
  5. Save the receipt as a screenshot or PDF, and check your application status on the commission’s site the next day.

If you have no bank app, FPSC lets you pay over the counter at any 1Link member bank, and NTS accepts a counter payment at ABL, MCB and Meezan Bank. Take the printed PSID or slip with you.

By bank app. Open your bank’s app, go to Bill Payment or Government Payments, choose the 1Bill or Invoice option, enter the PSID, check the name and amount, and pay. KPPSC fees can be paid in any banking app, including NBP, HBL, ABL, BOK and BOP.

By Easypaisa or JazzCash. Open the wallet, go to Bill Payment or Government Payments, choose the 1Bill or Invoice option, enter the PSID, check the name and amount, and pay. FPSC, KPPSC and ETEA name these wallets. SPSC and NTS accept any channel with the 1Bill option.

By ATM. Insert your card at any 1Link ATM, choose Bill Payment, then 1Bill Invoice or Voucher, enter the PSID, check the amount, and pay.

By bank counter. Take the printed PSID to any 1Link member bank branch and pay at the counter. NTS also accepts counter deposits at ABL, MCB and Meezan Bank.

Fees for Every Commission#

FPSC charges by grade: Rs 600 for BS-16 and BS-17, Rs 1,500 for BS-18, Rs 2,500 for BS-19 and Rs 3,000 for BS-20 and above. The fee must be paid against a PSID from fpsc.gov.pk. FPSC tells you to check that you meet every requirement, including age, domicile, qualification and experience, before you pay. The fee is for that one application.

PPSC charges Rs 600 for a one-paper test and Rs 1,000 for competitive exams. The figures come from its instructions as read on 21 September 2026, because the PPSC website could not be opened on 27 October 2026. PPSC says the fee for one post cannot be moved to another.

KPPSC charges Rs 500, excluding service charges, through the 1Bill option in any banking or microfinance app. ETEA, which tests for most other KP government jobs, charges Rs 700 for BS-16 and below, Rs 900 for BPS-17 or physical test posts, and Rs 1,000 for BS-18 and above. ETEA says the fee is non-refundable and asks you to keep the original stamped slip. KPPSC does not return a fee if you miss the date.

SPSC charges Rs 1,000 for CCE-2026. Other posts charge the fee set in their advertisement. BPSC sets the fee in each advertisement. NTS sets the fee for each project.

The fee is not refundable. ETEA, KPPSC and PPSC say so in writing, and no refund route was found at the others. Check your eligibility before you pay, because age and domicile are the usual traps.

How to Get the CPR and Check Your Payment#

After you pay a PSID, you get a payment receipt. That receipt is your proof of payment, and you should save it as a screenshot or PDF. For FBR tax PSIDs, the official receipt is called a CPR, a Computerized Payment Receipt, and it is downloaded from the FBR IRIS portal. For a job fee PSID, the receipt comes from your bank app or wallet at the moment you pay. Save it the same way.

Check your application status on the commission’s site the next day. The payment takes time to sync, so do not expect it to show the same minute. If the application still shows unpaid the next day, check that you paid the right PSID and that the receipt shows success. If both are right, contact the body with your PSID number and your payment receipt.

Keep the payment receipt with your application file. Our documents checklist lists the fee receipt as one of the documents to keep, because the commission can ask for it at document checking.

Lost or Wrong Payment#

If you paid the wrong PSID, contact the body at once with the PSID and the receipt. A PSID belongs to one application. Paying the wrong number does not credit your application, and the fee is not refunded.

If you paid after the closing date, the application is not revived. A PSID paid after the deadline does not revive the application. The PSID is valid only until the closing date of the advertisement.

If you paid before checking eligibility, the fee is lost. FPSC says to check every requirement, including age, domicile, qualification and experience, before you pay. If you do not meet a condition, the fee is not returned.

If you reused an old PSID, make a new one. Each PSID belongs to one application. An old PSID from another post does not work for a new application. Generate a fresh PSID for each post.

If you paid a middleman, report it and do not pay again. No commission asks you to pay a person. Fees go only through the PSID or 1Bill number from the official site. A commission never asks you to pay into a personal JazzCash or Easypaisa account.

Common Mistakes to Avoid#

  • Paying after the closing date. A PSID paid after the deadline does not revive the application.
  • Paying before checking eligibility. FPSC says this in its instructions. Age and domicile are the usual traps.
  • Reusing an old PSID. Each PSID belongs to one application. Make a new one for each post.
  • Paying a middleman. No commission asks you to pay a person. Pay only through the PSID or 1Bill number from the official site.
  • Paying the wrong number. Enter the PSID exactly. Check the name and amount the app shows before you pay.
  • Not saving the receipt. Save the payment receipt as a screenshot or PDF. Without it, you cannot prove you paid.
  • Using the old TR-6 challan. FPSC rejects it. BPSC moved to online 1Link payment on 5 May 2026. Pay the PSID through 1Link.
  • Paying by cheque, draft or pay order. FPSC does not accept them. Pay the PSID through 1Link, a bank app, a wallet, an ATM or a bank counter.
  • Expecting a refund. A paid fee is not refunded. ETEA, KPPSC and PPSC say so in writing.
  • Forgetting the e-Sahulat step for ETEA. ETEA requires a printed e-Sahulat token and a CNIC verification at a NADRA e-Sahulat franchise before you can apply or pay.
