Eligibility and Qualifications

Applicants for the Systems Administrator (AVP) position must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent, OR Graduation with a Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent, from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan. Relevant certifications will be preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in the field of IT, with at least 3 years specifically in Systems Administration or a related field, preferably within the banking sector.
• Key Skills & Knowledge:
  • Hands-on experience in MS Exchange (2019 and higher) and Office 365.
  • Understanding of planning, designing, and implementing Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in Outlook Web App, POP3, SMTP, IMAP4, and other MS Exchange protocols.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP, and other network protocols.
  • Familiarity with Web Proxy Servers (e.g., Sophos, Barracuda).
  • Sound understanding of cluster, highly available technologies, and exchange replication across networks.
  • Good expertise in Mobile Device Management technologies.
  • Good expertise in virtualization technologies (Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware).
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell).
  • Ability to research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Expertise in identifying resource-leveraging approaches for economies of scale.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and lead critical situations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator (AVP) will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation and integrity of the bank’s IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, administrating, and managing large deployments of Microsoft Exchange (2016 and higher), Windows Server (2016 and higher), Active Directory, and Exchange environments messaging systems, including MS Active Sync, IIS, spam/anti-virus filtering, and clustering.
• Analyzing technical problems and developing solutions using existing techniques or tools.
• Deploying centralized policies across all systems in alignment with Bank policies.
• Resolving anti-virus and messaging issues to ensure seamless and timely service delivery.
• Providing on-site technical support for Microsoft Exchange and addressing troubleshooting queries related to AD Exchange & Internet Security.
• Monitoring Microsoft server performance, conducting diagnostic tests, performing system backups, and managing cluster failovers.
• Monitoring exchange message queues, resolving non-deliveries, and performing message tracking and status logging.
• Performing system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, and reviewing system and application logs.
• Enforcing policies and procedures for security, patching, and system integrity, ensuring availability and disaster recovery.
• Managing systems and infrastructure components for mission-critical computing environments, and supporting communications and collaboration systems.
• Providing support services for Systems Administration, system-level storage management, performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Ensuring the smooth operations and availability of the Bank’s messaging infrastructure.
• Planning and executing capacity planning for hardware/software licenses in line with IT infrastructure growth.
• Staying updated with emerging technologies and market trends, especially in Microsoft operations.
• Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s IT infrastructure standards and project/operational requirements.
• Managing vendor SOPs, SLAs, and renewals.
• Coordinating and communicating with team members and relevant stakeholders.
• Performing any other assignments as directed by the supervisor.

• The employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, renewable at the discretion of the Management.
