Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates applying for the Head of Internal Audit position must meet the following detailed requirements:

Educational Background:

• Chartered Accountant (ICAP/ICAEW)/ACCA/ACMA or Master’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field from an HEC-recognized university.
• Degrees must be attested by HEC.

Professional Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, governance, compliance, or financial controls.
• At least 5 years in a Senior Internal Audit Leadership position.
• Proven experience in leading and managing internal audit functions in large public-sector, corporate, financial, or technology-driven organizations.
• Strong understanding of International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), Internal Auditing Standards, COSO Internal Control Framework, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and corporate governance principles.
• Experience of reporting to Board-Level Committees/Executive Management.
• Internal Audit certifications like CISA, CIA, or equivalent will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong command over internal audit methodologies and risk-based auditing.
• High integrity, professionalism, and decision-making ability.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing multidisciplinary audit teams.
• Experience with AI-enabled auditing, digital audit tools, and data analytics will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities of the Head of Internal Audit

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing and executing a risk-based annual audit plan aligned with International/National Standards.
• Leading financial, operational, IT, forensic, performance, and compliance audits across all NADRA Offices.
• Ensuring quality, accuracy, and objectivity of audit findings.
• Preparing high-quality audit reports for the Management and Audit Committee.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommending improvements.
• Supporting the development of internal control frameworks and organizational SOPs.
• Building audit capability in areas such as IT audit, forensics, and process automation.
• Ensuring the independence of the audit function and maintaining a culture of objectivity and integrity.
• Coordinating with external auditors, regulators, and oversight bodies whenever required.

Important Instructions and Terms & Conditions

• Selected candidates will undergo a 6-month probation period, extendable subject to performance.
• Management reserves the right to withhold/cancel the recruitment process or accept/reject any application without assigning a reason.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a test/interview.
• Candidates will be disqualified if false information is provided at any stage.
• Employees serving in Government/Semi-Government departments must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the interview.
• A 5-year general age relaxation is already included in the above age limit.
• Attested educational documents from the Higher Education Commission (HEC)/respective regulatory body must be provided at the time of joining.
• If a selected candidate declines the job offer, it may be extended to reserve candidates.
• Selected candidates must provide Medical Fitness and Character Certificates.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for tests/interviews.
• Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches, etc., will not be allowed during the test/interview.
