• General Banking Officer (OG-III / OG-II)

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates interested in the General Banking Officer position must meet the following basic eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
• Candidates holding a Master’s degree or an Islamic Banking certification/degree/diploma will be given preference.

Experience:

• A minimum of 01 year of banking experience is required.
• At least 06 months of this experience must be specifically in Branch Operations.

Other Skills and Knowledge:

• Sound knowledge of Branch Operations, General Accounts, and SBP Regulations.
• Good analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Proficiency in customer handling.
• Strong command over MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Outline of Main Duties and Responsibilities

The General Banking Officer will be responsible for a wide range of operational and compliance-related tasks, including but not limited to:

• Managing all operational affairs of the branch, ensuring regulatory compliance (KYC/AML).
• Ensuring efficient product processing and superior customer service.
• Adhering to banking laws, regulations, instructions, and SOPs, including Shariah Compliance.
• Ensuring seamless account openings within stipulated Turnaround Time (TAT) and error-free transaction processing.
• Monitoring and authorizing daily financial and non-financial transactions.
• Managing branch and cash vaults, ensuring timely opening/closing and adherence to controls.
• Performing balancing of vaults, tokens, taxes, deposits, and other General Ledgers (GLs).
• Reviewing suspense, parking, and clearing GL heads.
• Ensuring seamless processing of Inward & Outward Clearing and inter-branch transactions.
• Balancing ATM-related GL heads and reporting discrepancies.
• Monitoring dormant, inoperative, and unclaimed accounts.
• Managing customer queries and complaints effectively.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and complaint management.
• Managing budgetary requirements, incomes, expenses, and accruals.
• Ensuring all branch General Ledger Heads are balanced.
• Addressing audit requirements and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
• Maintaining comprehensive records, files, and documentation.
• Completing all processes within specified TAT.
• Performing any other assignments as directed by supervisors.
