Eligibility and Qualifications

Applicants must possess the prescribed academic qualifications and relevant teaching experience as per the Higher Education Commission (HEC) criteria for engagement as visiting teachers. The eligibility and selection process will strictly adhere to the prevailing HEC criteria and the University of Gujrat’s Statutes, Rules, Regulations, and Policies.

If an applicant meets the eligibility criteria for a higher academic rank, the University may consider their engagement against the higher post, subject to institutional requirements. In exceptional cases where a department faces an urgent academic requirement and an insufficient number of eligible applicants are available for the post of Lecturer, the Hiring Committee may recommend the engagement of a candidate as an Associate Lecturer, subject to the Vice Chancellor’s approval.

Important Instructions

• The University of Gujrat reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel any advertised posts, either wholly or partially, without assigning any reason. The University also reserves the right to increase or decrease the assigned workload in accordance with the number of enrolled students, formation of sections, commencement of academic programs/courses, and the appointment of regular faculty members before or during the semester.
• The maximum remunerable teaching workload for a Visiting Faculty member shall be twelve (12) credit hours per semester. No remuneration shall be admissible for any workload exceeding this limit.
• The University will not provide office accommodation, residential accommodation, transportation, or any other fringe benefits to Visiting Faculty members.
• Visiting Faculty members shall be required to abide by all Statutes, Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Codes of Conduct of the University of Gujrat.
• Engagement as Visiting Faculty shall be purely temporary and semester-specific. Such engagement will not confer any right or claim to seniority, regular appointment, contract appointment, extension of engagement, or preference/eligibility for any future position at the University.
