Eligibility and Qualifications

Candidates applying for the Assistant Director (Database Security) position must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree (4 Years) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering (with relevant IS certifications), or an equivalent qualification in a related field from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university. Degrees must be attested by HEC.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable organization, specifically in Information Security, Information Technology, Database Administration, or Network Device Administration.
• Preferred Certifications: Certification or a badge in any IBM Security Product, or equivalent, is preferred. Information Security Certificates such as CySA+, Data+, or equivalent are also preferred.
• Age Limit: Maximum 37 years (including 5 years age relaxation).
• Government Employees: Employees currently serving in Government or Semi-Government departments must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of application submission.
• Degree Attestation: Attested degrees from HEC or relevant regulatory bodies must be presented at the time of interview.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Director (Database Security) at NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad will be responsible for ensuring the robust security of database systems through various monitoring and protection mechanisms. This role involves a blend of technical expertise and analytical skills to safeguard sensitive data.

Key responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, and setting up Guardium appliances for comprehensive database activity monitoring and protection.
• Deploying Guardium agents on database servers and configuring them for efficient log collection.
• Ensuring timely patching of Guardium appliances and managing license renewals.
• Monitoring and evaluating database incidents using IBM Guardium data monitoring and protection tools.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to perform data discovery and classification, prioritizing the implementation of security solutions.
• Monitoring and auditing all database activities, with a particular focus on privileged user activity.
• Analyzing existing logs to identify and assess database risks through data analytics.
• Demonstrating strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Possessing excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibiting strong communication skills, including technical writing and general correspondence.
• Maintaining an inquisitive approach to learn new technologies and processes, and collaborating effectively with other teams.
• Having knowledge of scripting, automation of robotic processes, and report generation.
• Ensuring robust backup, disaster recovery, and data protection mechanisms are in place.
• Implementing cybersecurity controls for both on-premises and cloud-based databases.

The selected candidate will undergo a 6-month probation period, which may be extended based on performance.
