Eligibility and Qualifications
The eligibility criteria for all positions will be determined according to HEC guidelines and subsequent shortlisting/scrutiny processes. These will be strictly carried out as per the provisions outlined in the AIOU Services Statutes 1978 (as amended), AIOU Recruitment & Promotion Rules 2022 (as amended up to April 27, 2026), and the Internal Assessment Framework approved by the apex body of the University, all of which are available on the AIOU website.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit will be as prescribed under existing rules, with relaxations provided in accordance with the Relaxation of Upper Age Limit Rules, 1993 (as amended from time to time), and AIOU Services Statutes 1978.
- Documentary Evidence: Applicants must provide documentary evidence to support all information claimed in their online profile/application. Failure to do so may result in ineligibility.
- Online Application Finality: Information submitted in the online application form will be considered final. Subsequent claims or information not initially provided will be treated as an afterthought and will not be accepted to establish eligibility.
Application Fee
The application processing fee is as follows:
- BPS-18: Rs. 1500/-
- BPS-20: Rs. 5000/-
The Challan Form for the fee can be downloaded directly from the AIOU Job Portal.
Important Notes
- The AIOU reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts, not to fill any post, or to withhold the appointment against any post without assigning any reason.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for tests or interviews.

The last date for submission of applications is November 30, 2026.
How to Apply
- Online Application: All applicants are required to apply online through the AIOU Job Portal at careers.aiou.edu.pk .
- Associate Professor Specific Requirement: Candidates applying for the position of Associate Professor must submit their online application first. This must then be followed by hard copies of their application (04 sets in binding form) and one soft copy (CD/USB in PDF format). These hard and soft copies should include attested academic documents, research articles, relevant documentary testimonials (such as details of conference papers, number of students supervised at M.Phil & Ph.D level, details of Research Grant/Projects, Community Development/Social Responsibility), and the paid original Bank Challan.
- Submission of Hard Copies: For Associate Professor positions, both hard and soft copies of the applications must reach the undersigned on or before the cutoff date. Applications submitted only in hard or soft copy without prior online submission will not be entertained. The submission of the dossier in hard form is mandatory after the online application for Associate Professor roles.
- Processing Fee: The schedule of processing fees is Rs. 1500/- for BPS-18 positions and Rs. 5000/- for BPS-20 positions. The Challan Form can be downloaded from the AIOU Job Portal.
- Government/Semi-Government Employees: Applicants currently working in Government, Semi-Government, or Autonomous Bodies (including AIOU employees) on regular, acting charge, officiating, ad-hoc, current charge, or contract basis must apply through the proper channel. They must submit an NOC (No Objection Certificate) and service certificate(s) issued by their respective Controlling Authority by the due date. Applications without these documents will be considered incomplete and rejected.
