Contract Manager (Grade-M1)

The Contract Manager will oversee the full contract lifecycle, ensuring adherence to principles and managing post-award administration, risk analysis, and dispute resolution.

• Strong knowledge of contract-management principles and the full contract lifecycle, with particular depth in post-award administration.
• Ability to interpret contractual terms, identify rights and obligations, analyze risk and develop clear, practical recommendations.
• Sound understanding of performance management, change control, cost and price implications, claims, dispute avoidance, remedies and closeout.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, drafting and records-management skills.
• High standards of integrity, impartiality, confidentiality and professional judgment.
• Ability to work constructively across technical and administrative disciplines without displacing established functional accountabilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Urdu, including the ability to prepare concise reports and briefs for senior management.
• Proficiency in standard office applications and the ability to develop and maintain registers, dashboards and management reports.

A Contract Manager needs a Master's degree or equivalent (16 years of education) in a relevant discipline, with extensive experience in contract management, administration, and public-sector/donor-funded programs.

• Education: Master's degree or equivalent qualification comprising at least 16 years of education in business administration, public administration, project management, engineering, law, finance, economics, procurement, supply chain management, contract management or another directly relevant discipline.
• Experience: At least 12 years of progressively responsible professional experience in contract management, contract administration, commercial management or a closely related field. At least seven years of substantive experience managing or administering complex contracts, including responsibility for performance, deliverables, modifications, claims, payments, remedies or closeout. At least five years of relevant experience in public-sector and/or donor-funded programmes, development projects or similarly regulated institutional environments.
• Skills: Demonstrated experience with contracts for goods, works, consulting services and non-consulting services. Demonstrated ability to analyze contractual requirements, develop practical management systems, advise senior decision-makers and coordinate inputs from technical, programme, financial, procurement, audit and legal functions.
