Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Chief Information Security Officer position must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Master’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institution. Degrees must be attested by HEC. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. or Doctorate degree.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in IS Audits, especially CISA, CISM, etc., are preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior positions within Information Security operations and management roles.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (national/international), technological advancements in industry, and international best practices.
  • Profound knowledge to steer organizational strategy and align it with NADRA’s vision for Information Security (IS)/Cyber Security (CS).
  • Expertise in need analysis, gap identification, and taking corrective measures to address identified issues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to represent NADRA at local and international forums on matters related to IS/CS.
  • Good leadership qualities and abilities to handle a team of IS professionals.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, think critically, and make informed, timely decisions as per arising critical scenarios.
• Age Limit: The maximum age for applicants is 55 years.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Information Security Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:

• Planning and implementing the Data Security framework and technology.
• Possessing in-depth knowledge of information management, governance, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks.
• Developing and managing the Security Operation Centre, including knowledge of required technology and its integration with the organization’s IT infrastructure.
• Gaining experience in developing IT Forensic Investigations Framework and Incident Response Mechanisms in large organizations.
• Operating and managing Cyber Threat Intelligence Platforms, and developing linkages to the IS paradigm of the organization and possible impact.
• Mentoring the organization’s software/applications vulnerability assessment and network pen-testing efforts/tasks.
• Planning and conducting IS training and awareness activities across the organization.
• Collaborating and engaging with stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies (national/international) to ensure effective policy development and implementation.
• Encouraging a culture of continuous quality improvement (CQI), staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technological risks to make informed, evidence-based policy modifications.
