Professor of Practice

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Professor of Practice position must meet the following requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in the respective field.
• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Level-6) or equivalent qualification in the relevant field from an HEC-recognized institution.
• Preferred Qualification: PhD is preferable but not mandatory.
• Professional Standing: Must have distinguished professional standing, demonstrated expertise, and significant achievements in their respective fields.
• Additional Preferences: Candidates possessing relevant professional certifications, awards, leadership experience, major projects, innovations, or other notable professional accomplishments will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The Professor of Practice will be expected to contribute significantly to the university’s academic and professional development initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing to practice-oriented teaching and mentoring.
• Assisting in curriculum development to ensure industry relevance.
• Facilitating professional training programs.
• Developing and strengthening industry linkages.
• Promoting applied learning among students.

Terms & Conditions

Applicants should be aware of the following terms and conditions:

1. The appointment will be made and governed in line with the “HEC Policy Guidelines for Appointment of Professor of Practice,” applicable GCWUF rules, and the terms of the appointment contract.
2. The appointment does not confer any right to regular/permanent employment or tenure.
3. Selection will be based on professional eminence, relevant experience, achievements, practical expertise, teaching/mentoring potential, and an interview/presentation, as determined by the University.
4. Candidates working in government/semi-government/autonomous institutions must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC)/permission from their parent organization, where applicable.
5. Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by HEC equivalence.
6. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/presentation. No TA/DA will be admissible.
7. The University reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of positions, reject any/all applications, or cancel the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
8. Any false or misleading information will result in the cancellation of candidature/appointment.
9. The decision of the competent authority, subject to applicable law/policy, shall be final.
