Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Applicants for the Director General (Law) position must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Candidates must possess LL.B. and LL.M. degrees from a recognized university. An LL.M. from a foreign university will be preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of seven (07) years of experience as an Advocate of the High Court is required.
• Legal Expertise: Substantial experience in litigation, transactional, and corporate legal work is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with in-house legal experience within a Government Department or public sector organization.
• Litigation Record: Proven litigation experience before the High Court and other courts, including a minimum of two (2) reported judgments and appearances in at least thirty (30) cases before the High Court.
• Specialized Experience: Experience in constitutional, commercial, corporate, regulatory, employment, and/or public-sector litigation will be considered an added advantage.
• Skills: Strong legal research, drafting, advisory, negotiation, and case-management skills are mandatory.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a legal department, supervise external counsel, formulate litigation strategy, and provide strategic legal advice to senior management.

General Instructions

• Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government policy.
• CDA reserves the right to cancel the advertisement or to increase/decrease the number of posts.
• Appointments will be on a contract basis for an initial period of two (02) years, extendable if required, with no vested right for regular appointment or extension.
• Only shortlisted candidates who meet the criteria will be called for a written test or interviews.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for tests or interviews.
• Candidates must bring original documents (educational and experience certificates) and attested copies at the time of the interview.
• Candidates already serving in Government sector organizations are required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department along with the application.

Application Fee

A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 8000/- is required for each post. This fee must be submitted online using the PSID/QR code generated upon successful submission of the application. Applications without the requisite fee will not be entertained.
