The University of Layyah is seeking to fill the following faculty positions:

Eligibility and Qualifications

(1) Qualifications & Experience (Associate Professor)

• Ph.D. in the relevant subject or an equivalent qualification from an institute or university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
• Experience:
  • Ten years’ teaching or research experience from a postgraduate institute or university recognized by HEC, OR professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization; OR
  • Five years’ post-Ph.D. teaching or research experience from a postgraduate institute or university recognized by HEC, OR professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization.
• Publications: Ten research publications in HEC recognized journals, with four publications published within the last five years.
• For Engineering, Information Technology and Computing Discipline:
  • Ph.D. in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computing or an equivalent qualification from an institute or university recognized by HEC.
  • Experience:
    • Ten years’ teaching or research experience from an institute or college recognized by a Board or university recognized by HEC, OR ten years’ professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization (with two years of teaching experience); OR
    • Five years’ post-Ph.D. teaching or research experience from a postgraduate institute or university recognized by HEC, OR professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization.
  • Publications: Ten research publications in HEC recognized journals or Pakistan Engineering Council, with four publications published within the last five years.

(2) Qualification (Assistant Professor)

• Ph.D. in the relevant subject or an equivalent qualification from an institute of higher education or university recognized by the HEC of Pakistan.

(3) Qualification (Lecturer)

• MS/ M.Sc. (Hons) or M.Phil. (First division) or an equivalent qualification in the relevant subject from an institute of higher education or university recognized by the HEC of Pakistan.
• Note: A candidate must not have a third division in their entire academic career. However, candidates holding a Ph.D. degree in the relevant field, with not more than one third division in their academic career, shall be eligible.

Important Instructions

• Foreign degree holders must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the HEC along with their application form.
• Only degrees from HEC recognized universities/degree awarding institutions will be considered.
• Documentary evidence must be provided for all claimed experience.
• Research papers published in HEC recognized journals (JCR, Scopus Indexed (SCIE, SSCI, AHCI), or HIRS policy) will be acceptable. Review articles, case studies, translations, briefs, presentations, short communications, and letters to the editor will not be considered as original research articles.
• Applications from candidates whose results are not officially notified by the Controller of Examinations of a Board/University by the closing date will not be considered.
• Unsigned applications will not be entertained. Any incorrect or false information provided will lead to disqualification and action under the rules.
• Where required, a screening test may be conducted through an independent testing service for shortlisting purposes only. Marks from this test will not be counted towards the final merit list.
• Candidates applying for Computer Engineering/Veterinary disciplines must also submit a valid registration certificate of PEC/PVMC.
• Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous body employees must apply through the proper channel by the due date, along with a valid experience certificate and NOC from the competent authority. Advance copies of applications will not be entertained.
• Age relaxation for serving Government Employees will be admissible as per Government policy.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be admissible.
• The University will not be responsible for any delay in the delivery or non-receipt of call letters due to courier service, post office, or telecommunication system issues.
• The Selection Board reserves the right to increase/decrease or cancel/withhold any post(s) or the entire advertisement without assigning any reason, which will not be challengeable in any court of law.
• Incomplete and late applications will not be entertained.
• The decision of the University shall remain binding in all cases.
